Altered Esthetics is a non-profit community-based art gallery and arts advocacy organization located in Northeast Minneapolis –and the host of the 2012 Northeast Ride wrap party (more details on that later…). The folks at Altered Esthetics believe artists represent a voice of society and they have a mission to support and expand a vibrant arts community. We are thrilled to have Altered Esthetics as a presenting sponsor of Northeast Ride and can’t wait to celebrate the first annual event with them on June 2nd!
Over the past six years, Altered Esthetics has hosted over 50 compelling group exhibitions, showing the work of over 1,000 local and international artists.
In 2007, Altered Esthetics began a curatorial internship program, giving artists, students and community members hands on experience in the arts. In 2008 a Gallery Director internship program was added, providing hands-on experience in grantsmanship, fundraising as well as the other components of running a nonprofit organization.
Altered Esthetics will be hosting the wrap-party for the Northeast Ride! If you aren’t already participating in the ride, stop by Altered Esthetics on June 2nd from 2pm-5pm, chat with riders and check out their annual Bicycle Art show!
