The neighborhood of Beltrami is a unique community. Large tracts of industrial land cover the southwestern portion of Beltrami, while most of the land is residential. Beltrami neighborhood and park are named after Giacomo Constantino Beltrami, an early 19th century Italian jurist, scholar and explorer. As with other neighborhoods in northeast Minneapolis, many artists have set up studios in Beltrami.
The neighborhood is small (“The smallest neighborhood in Minneapolis!”) but awesome. They have a great community garden and Beltrami is also currently working on putting in a dog park!! Now that’s an idea we can get behind.
(Another idea we can get behind… a ride that takes us through the awesome neighborhood of Beltrami!!! kickstarter.com/projects/purenoumena/celebrate-northeast-minneapolis-with-the-ne-ride)
