Our fundraising event, Indeed We Can!, is coming up very soon. Please join us at Indeed Brewing Company on JULY 13th for a night of fun: trivia (Trivia Mafia), Bingo, and delicious Indeed beer! All proceeds from the event will go to the Northeast CDC, who works to support the arts, businesses, and community of NE Minneapolis. Please come and celebrate Nordeast with us!
Happy June, everyone! We hope you’re enjoying the summery weather. 🙂
In case you haven’t heard already, we’re sad to report that we will NOT be doing the Northeast Ride this year. But, there is good news! In the ride’s place, we’re having a different, fun event: INDEED WE CAN! The event will be held on July 13th at Indeed Brewing Company. More info about the event will be posted here VERY SOON. Mark your calendars now because it’s going to be a lot of fun!
On January 10 and February 7, the NECDC and MNSure collaborated on healthcare sign-up events for open enrollment in Minnesota’s healthcare exchange. At least two dozen people were either signed up, or later contacted for healthcare. We at the NECDC along MNSure were greatly pleased with the results. Actions like this are why Minnesota is one of the most insured states in the nation. Way to go to all those involved! Here a few pictures of the event.
NEW DEADLINE: OCTOBER 15, 2013
Keep those submissions coming in! 🙂

On the off chance you haven’t already heard the news – areas in Minneapolis were devastated today due to the tornado. (Or a “suspected” tornado as the news said – but I’m not sure what that means exactly…)
If anybody is interested, available and/or willing to help our friends over in North, Urban Homeworks and the Sanctuary Community Development Corporation are mobilizing volunteers to complete tornado clean up.
People are meeting at 8AM at 1800 Emerson Ave N Minneapolis MN. Volunteers may contact Ryan Petersen at 612-701-2653 or ryan.petersen-at-urbanhomeworks.org
